It is the current policy of Windsor Baseball League to make every effort to place a player in a level so as to provide the best environment for success.
Player placement
Teams will start from scratch every season. This means that teams start with all new players; no tenure or returning players. This policy is used to ensure team parity.
Method:
Rookie - Minor A
Players will be assigned to teams within each lower level by a Player Agent and the Division Managers.
Once teams have been formed, equitable trades may be allowed and authorized by the Division Manager and/or the Player Agent
Minor AA - Majors
Players will be drafted onto teams by division coaches utilizing a draft list created by the Player Agent, Division Manager, and/or WYB Board.
Draft list is created using the assessment scores.
Any player not drafted into Majors will fall down to Minor AAA
Any player not drafted into Minor AAA will fall down to Minor AA
Any player not drafted into Minor AA will fall down to Minor A
Special requests
Lower levels: The League will consider a Parent/Guardian's request to place their child on a specific team, with a coach or a friend only in Rookie, and Machine Pitch; however, there are no guarantees. Requests should be made at time of registration,
Upper levels: The League will not consider requests to place a child with a particular "Manager", "Coach" or "Friend" in Minor A to Majors.
**A player will be assigned to a team if parent/guardian is a Coach/Manager. Siblings will be placed together unless otherwise requested.
Siblings:
It is the policy of WBL that siblings, eligible for the same age/division, should end up on the same team unless the parent or guardian has previously made it clear that they have no preference to keep siblings together. Without prior notice, siblings will be placed on same team.
